Who pays attention to Our Mayor?

January 17, 2009

Mayor Bloomberg made a speech this week

on how HE plans to help the city through the economic Country crisis we are having.

To read the full speech click here.

http://www.nyc.gov/portal/site/nycgov/menuitem.c0935b9a57bb4ef3daf2f1c701c789a0/index.jsp?pageID=mayor_press_release&catID=1194&doc_name=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nyc.gov%2Fhtml%2Fom%2Fhtml%2F2009a%2Fpr021-09.html&cc=unused1978&rc=1194&ndi=1

Basically He is creating thousands of jobs and opportunities for city growth over the next 6 years.

GREAT my Goals are planned out for 5 years. lol

I appreciate our Mayor. Others can only see the changes that he has done through negativity views..(shakes head) I can’t stand those views. He has done so much for the city it is unbelievable.

Again Future is coming. He is preparing the city for it. Let’s get optimistic New York.

Thanks for Reading.

Please be curious for what our Mayor has planned.

Sooo..I like Development..

January 10, 2009

And it’s true, Not only development I LOVE NYC!!! HOLLA

lol

Why do you like your city? Or what about your city do you like?

See…I had I will say the opportunity to move away from the city and experience life in another state. But it also made me realize that 1. NYC is the greatest city and 2. Who I was and 3. APPRECIATION to a whole other level.

SOOOO I appreciate NYC, the culture, the lifestyle hey…let me give it you on a picture for those…and I do know some who are like whatever NY is boring..blah blah blah…

I worked at one of the largest Timeshare resorts in the world in Florida. I witnessed people paying to travel..hhhoouurrss to then pay LOTS OF $$$$$$$$$$ to stay in a pretty little 3 bedroom Villa all because on premises they were provided with great amenities such as a restaurant, a few pools ooo shit a water slide and great CUSTOMER SERVICE. HA..(NYC does lack a lot of that)..but…to those who are not grasping…

You live in a city where amenities are provided to you all the time.

OK, I took a hospitality point of view and applied to a major city..Let’s now analyze what our great Mayor Bloomberg had done..and where do you think he got his visuals of the city from.

There are more tourist in NY since  9/11, with and while city and boroughs are drastically changing and advancing tourist are now paying to travel and see a building turn condo..lol…or the waterfalls under the bridge (were for tourist!!) so New Yorker’s you live in a city where amenities are all around you. You have to notice them for yourself and guess what there free!!

My greatest anticipation are the new views the city will have, I’d rather walk down the promenade’s any day and sit and look at this rather than get on a cruise ship for 7 day’s and pay for everything I can do right at home…  fosterrogersmakiri11

Williamsburg Brooklyn, Sandy’s Blog

January 9, 2009

I wanted to take the time to educate some of you or hopefully most of you about the development of  what use to be the Toxic Waste of America, Williamsburg. El Puente which in Spanish means “The Bridge” is resident to large diverse population. Jews are the primary residents in brooklyn holding the largest Jewish Population outside of Isreal. Willliamsburg was founded in 1638 by the Dutch  and was name Town of Boswijck, which means Bushwhick in Dutch. Williamsburg has been one of the worst places to live because of the increase of pollution and the toxic waste of Industries which lead the development of Williamsburg to Hault due to the increase of pollution. At one time kids growing up in Williamsburg had the highest levels of Asthma than in any other place in America.  The indepentent town of Williamsburg became part of Brooklyn in 1855.

Born and Raise in Williamsburg i had the privelge to witness this historic change of my favorite neighborhood in brooklyn. As the neighborhood grew people from Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico flock to is area where cheap rent was found. Williamsburg also houses large group of Itailians and Polish people.

In December 19,1903 The Williamsburg Bridge at the time the only traffic crossing the bridge were horse carriages and trains, trolleys etc. Designed by Leffert L Buck it was the first all steel, large scale suspension bridge, and the second oldest bridge in America. Now the bridge carries over 140,000  vechicles a day and 100,000 train passengers.

This bridge is vital to the population in williamsburg and to the future of this great neighborhood.  In 2003 the Bloomberg Administration created a proposal for the waterfront of this neighborhood and change the face of Williamsburg forever.  180px-nycsub_jmz_marcy_av300px-williamsburg_mit_blick_auf_die_williamsburg_bridge1

use_site03

The waterfront development of Williamsburg proposed by the Bloomberg Adminstration will create 100,000 residents with fantastic views of the City, also waterfront parks and Ferries so that residents can easily travel to downtown manhattan and Midtown as well. The skyline of Brooklyn will change forever when Williamsburg becomes fully develop, making more resturants and bars creating an East Village environment to Brooklyn. Williamsburg is now known for its art and music where people in the neighborhood are creative with artistic ideas  making the neighborhood more cultural and unique.  use_n4th_wf

Thank you for reading my blog about the neighborhood that i was born and raised in, this place intrigues me with its creativness and I hope to help  futher develop this place call home in the Future.

Will this still be corporate headquarters?

January 8, 2009

BOA

BANK OF AMERICA HEAD QUARTERS

A DYK SPECIAL

ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY SKYSCRAPERS

ecotower This building is located on 6th ave by Bryant Park. Has anyone walked by looked up and thought wow, look at that detail, or say hmm..what’s this going to be?

I have….This is the corporate Head Quarters for Bank of America…I don’t really care for the owner of the building because personally with this economy I doubt they will last that long owning this 1 billion dollar building..lol

What intrigues me the most about this building is the architecture. It is the most environmentally friendly building in the country.  HA! Did you know that??

Now you do…This building is made through recycled materials, and will generate as an air purifier in the city….notice how we have the best taxi’s and every bus are now Hybrid….NY is really Going Green.

Well it all started with the construction of this building. The way the building generates itself is amazing. Even the futuristic details are to be acknowledged. Then again someone did draw this…so I consider this art. And also one of my favorite buildings in NYC before the freedom tower is built downtown. The freedom tower will be built similar to this site right here. So imagine TWO big ass Skyscrapers that act as air purifiers. COOL!

Take a look at what you probably walk by and don’t bother to look at…

180px-bank_of_america_tower_sept_2007

180px-height_comparison

Okay, so you must be thinking O wow big deal, it’s just a building.

Well if you are one of the many people that admire the beautiful skyline that NYC has then if I show you this..

The BOA building stands a little bit under the Empire state and is taller than the Chrysler….and can be seen at this moment in the Mid-town skyline

This is a new piece added to the beauty of NY that can be viewed across the river in Williamsberg, BK.

I went in right now, but hey I love This Building.

Thanks for Reading!!!

Hope I provided you with information
